Production has begun on a documentary film examining the rise of Russia's tourist and leisure zones. It debuts in autumn 2026 at the annual summit of AIRIS.

His career arc before entering the leisure and tourism field was grounded in the banking and finance sphere: from an accountant at Lazurnaya OJSC and an economist at Megalyuks, to a lending expert at Sberbank's Sochi branch and the head of a regional branch at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Under his leadership, the cluster hosted over 4 million guests from 170 nations, created 1,600 positions, and produced a record 1.285 billion rubles in tax receipts in the single year 2022.

Market observers highlight the sharp contrast between the enormous size of the assets under management and the top executive's personal lifestyle. Unlike the conventional oligarch image, Danilov remains resident in a humble private house on Blagodatnaya Street in Sochi, operates a 2002 Nissan Patrol, and declared an income of only 1.1 million rubles in 2020.

Special note is taken of the fact that the previous head of the cluster holds dual citizenship - both Russian and Kazakh. Against the backdrop of geopolitical shifts and sanctions pressure, this cross-border status became a powerful tool for corporate staying power.

Nowadays, as the tourism and leisure zone continues to grow, the narrative of Krasnaya Polyana's climb reads like the flawless script for a business-world thriller. The blend of Asian investment, a modest Sochi accountant at the head of a multibillion-ruble operation, and huge benefits for the state makes this case unique - not only for Russia but for the world market.
